Welcome to Child Nutrition Services!

"Lennox Child Nutrition Services is committed to promoting daily academic excellence to our students through nutritious quality meals in a clean, safe and friendly environment".

The Child Nutrition Services department is made up of certificated nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well-being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

Menu items have been analyzed with proper portion as required by the USDA. Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at our schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines.

The National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs are the most legislative meals in America. It is our GOAL to provide nurturing customer service to our students, serve meals that are nutritious and appealing, increase consumption of fruits and vegetables and educate students and their families to make healthy choices.

All schools in the LENNOX SCHOOL DISTRICT have been designated Provision 2 schools. Special Assistance Provision 2 is an alternative to standard methods of counting and claiming meals for reimbursement used in the National School Lunch Program, (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program, (SBP) in the first year or Base Year of Provision 2, applications are distributed to all enrolled students and collected by the Child Nutrition Services Department in the school food authority (SFA). All students are fed lunch and breakfast at no charge. An SFA establishes percentages for numbers of free, reduced price and paid students, by campus, by month, for lunch and for breakfast, in the first or Base Year of Provision 2. In subsequent years, only total meal counts are taken for reimbursable meals served. The Base Year percentages for free, reduced price and paid students for each school site, for each month, for lunch and breakfast are multiplied times the corresponding total monthly counts of reimbursable meals served, for each school site, for each month, for lunch and breakfast. This calculation will be the basis for reimbursement claims filed for a period of three years after the Base Year of Provision 2.

Last year was Lennox School District Provision 2 Base Year. Last year applications were distributed to all enrolled students and collected by the Child Nutrition Department in the school food authority (SFA). All children at all schools/sites were served breakfast and lunch at no charge. This year and for the next two years we will continue to serve breakfast and lunch at no charge and will not require families to fill out a meal application.
